Life Saver Fellowship
Faith Statement

The following statement of faith was adopted and accepted by Life Saver Fellowship as a document which states our position on various aspects of church life. These seventeen points are foundational to our being; they affirm our theological stance and our position on relevant issues of today.

1. We believe in a personal God who manifests himself in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

2. We believe Jesus Christ is the Head of Life Saver Fellowship. We are His Body gathered together to worship Him.

3. We believe the Bible to be the true and inspired Word of God.

4. We believe that the Bible is just as relevant today as it was in the past, and as it will be in the future.

5. We believe that Christ instituted Baptism and Communion.

6. We believe that baptism is a sign for the individual, a sign demonstrating the renewal of life, and washing away of sins. We do not hold to any particular mode of baptism, but find full immersion the best way to describe what has taken place within the individual.

7. We believe in infant baptism or the dedication of children, whereby parents promise to raise their children in a Christian environment, with the help of the church, teaching them in the ways of the Lord.

8. We believe Holy Communion is a symbolic act whereby we remember what Christ has done for us by His death and in victory over death through His resurrection.

9. We believe that God instituted marriage for procreation and for mutual love and fellowship. It is a commitment a man and a woman make to each other to forsake all others.

10. We believe in and encourage the use of each individual's giftedness in the life and ministry of Life Saver Fellowship.

11. We believe that the quality of each Christian's relationship with God, in Christ and the Holy Spirit should improve as a sign of spiritual health.

12. We recognize that Life Saver Fellowship must be in tune with what's taking place today and tomorrow - therefore, if the need arises, we are willing to change structures, customs, schedules, and organizations in order to minister more effectively to accommodate people for whom Christ died.

13. We believe in the importance of fellowship groups that build relationships of mutual trust and care. Each member ought to participate in one such group in order to grow and flourish forth as a Christian.

14. We believe in strong loving pastoral leadership, a leadership that is shared in the broad ownership of mutual goals and objectives.

15. We believe in having joy, prayer, praise and worship in all our meetings together as the Body of Christ.

16. We believe that our lifestyles must be a witness to what we claim and profess.

17. We believe that all need to be committed to Christ and seek His guidance daily.
